Prof. Dr. Daniel Patrick Politze is Professor and Head of the Institute for Network and Security (INS) at OST – Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences. He holds a Dr. sc. ETH from ETH Zurich and a degree in Industrial Engineering from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). He also serves as Head of the MAS Cybersecurity programme at OST.

His research and consulting activities focus on Industrial Cybersecurity (Secure Digital Transformation, IT/OT Security), Network Observability based on Telemetry and Data Analytics, and Security by Design and throughout a product’s lifecycle.

As head of the INS Institute, Prof. Politze leads interdisciplinary applied research projects, collaborates with companies across various industries, and leads and supervises numerous projects in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, embedded systems, and secure digital transformation. His work translates academic research into industrial practice, helping organizations address emerging cyber risks while enabling secure digital innovation.

With his extensive expertise in industrial security architecture, IT/OT convergence, network analytics, and applied research, Prof. Politze regularly contributes to research collaborations, industry projects, and discussions on cybersecurity, resilient industrial systems, artificial intelligence, and secure digital transformation.
