Michael Föhner is the Global Head of Data & AI Governance at Swiss Re, where he ensures that data and AI technologies are used in a compliant and responsible manner. To achieve this, he and his team work closely with technology experts, regulators, legal professionals, and business stakeholders.

Before taking on this role in 2024, Michael spent eight years as Global Head of Data Science, where he was responsible for building Swiss Re’s advanced analytics and AI capabilities.

Since joining Swiss Re in 2003, Michael has held several leadership positions across data and technology functions, successfully building and leading large international expert teams to drive Swiss Re’s digital transformation.

Prior to joining Swiss Re, he held positions in the consulting and technology industries.
