Matthias Bryner is the CIO of the University Children’s Hospital Zurich and an experienced leader in digitalization, technology, and ICT transformation. Having worked in information technology for about 26 years, he has extensive experience in building high-performing ICT organizations in complex and regulated environments. His experience spans both the healthcare sector and industry, including roles at Lucerne Cantonal Hospital, Schindler Informatik, and Holcim Group Support.

At the University Children’s Hospital Zurich, he has evolved the ICT function into a strategically positioned enterprise ICT organization, led a multi-year digitalization program, and overseen the ICT migration and go-live at the new Lengg location. He is actively driving the adoption of artificial intelligence at the Children’s Hospital. He has an executive background in business administration, digital business innovation, and digital and AI transformation. In 2025, Matthias Bryner was named Top CIO of the Year by EY & Confare.
