Lídia Pereira was born in 1991 and is a native of Coimbra, Portugal. She holds a degree in Economics from the University of Coimbra and a Master’s degree in European Economic Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium.
During her academic studies, Lídia had the opportunity to participate in the Erasmus program, studying for a semester in Prague, Czech Republic. Participation in academic movements was always part of her journey, as she held various responsibilities within the Students' Association and university governing bodies. Following an internship at the European Investment Bank, Lídia became a consultant in the financial sector.
Later, she began her political career in the JSD, the youth organization of the Social Democratic Party (PSD). In May 2016, Lídia was appointed International Secretary of the JSD Board (2016-2018). She served as President of the Youth of the European People's Party (YEPP) between 2018 and 2025.
Elected to the European Parliament in 2019, Lídia is a member of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs, a permanent member of the Subcommittee on Tax Matters, and a member of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health, and Food Safety. In the current 2024-2029 mandate, Lídia Pereira also serves on the Committee on International Trade and the Delegation for Relations with the People's Republic of China. She chaired the European Parliament Delegation at COP29 in Baku (Azerbaijan) and COP30 in Belém do Pará (Brazil).
Lídia Pereira is a Vice-President of the EPP Group and also Co-President of the Cleantech Friendship Group.
